Job Description
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic kidney diseases.
Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and clinical assessments.
Order and interpret blood tests, urine tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic investigations.
Manage patients with chronic kidney disease and kidney failure.
Provide care for patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Diagnose and manage electrolyte and acid-base disorders.
Treat kidney-related hypertension and other renal complications.
Evaluate patients for kidney transplantation and provide pre- and post-transplant care.
Perform or assist with appropriate nephrology procedures according to training and hospital protocols.
Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans.
Monitor patients' response to treatment and modify therapy when required.
Collaborate with urologists, surgeons, intensivists, physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and families about kidney health, treatment options, medications, diet, and lifestyle changes.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
Participate in clinical meetings, teaching, research, and quality-improvement activities.
Follow hospital policies, medical ethics, and applicable healthcare regulations.
