AI Research Director

Define and lead the organization’s AI research vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap.

Lead research programs in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or related fields.

Build, manage, mentor, and develop high-performing AI research teams.

Identify emerging AI technologies, research opportunities, and industry trends.

Set research priorities based on organizational objectives and technical opportunities.

Oversee the design, development, testing, and evaluation of AI models and research prototypes.

Establish research methodologies, technical standards, and evaluation frameworks.

Review research findings, experiments, papers, and technical proposals.

Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and business teams to transition research into production applications.

Encourage publication of high-quality research papers and participation in conferences and technical communities where appropriate.

Develop relationships with universities, research institutions, technology partners, and industry organizations.

Manage research budgets, infrastructure, computing resources, and external research partnerships.

Ensure responsible development and deployment of AI, including consideration of safety, privacy, security, fairness, and regulatory requirements.

Track research performance using appropriate technical and organizational metrics.

Present research strategy, progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Recruit senior researchers and technical specialists and support their professional development.

Protect intellectual property and ensure appropriate documentation of research work.

Stay current with advances in AI research, tools, models, and methodologies.

Perform other duties assigned by executive or technical leadership.
